Final Days of Passover - Come on by! (YIZKOR)

The last two days of Passover are a special festival known as "Shevi'i & Acharon Shel Pesach" - The Seventh and Final Days of Passover. This biblical holiday marks the miraculous crossing of the Red Sea. 

FINAL DAYS OF PASSOVER: 

  • Eve of 7th Day of Passover - Sunday Eve, April 28

    Evening Service at 7:45 pm 
     
  • Monday, April 29 - 7th Day of Passover

    Holiday Morning Service at 10 am
    - Hallel thanksgiving prayer
    - Festival Torah reading
    - Followed by Kiddush & Fruit
     
  • Tuesday, April 29 - Final Day of Passover

    Holiday Morning Service at 10 am
    - Hallel thanksgiving prayer
    - Festival Torah reading
    - YIZKOR Memorial Prayer after the Torah reading
    - Followed by Kiddush & Fruit

    Passover Holiday Concludes Tuesday at 8:34 pm

Reciting the blessing on the trees this past Sunday at Chabad Bay Area at the recently planted olive trees!

A special Mitzah that is done only one time a year, in the month of Nissan (in the spring), when one observes fruit trees that are flowering or budding, where we express our gratitude to Hashem for providing for all the needs of his creation.

  • If you ordered, Sunday at 12 pm is a great time to come by and pick up your Matzah order. (Please note that we are sold out and cannot accept new orders for lbs of Matzah).
  • We do have special gifts of 2 Shmurah Matzahs to enhance your Seder. Please come by on Sunday at 12 pm

Doing so helps every Jewish person fulfill the Torah obligation of not owning any Chametz (grain-based and other products that are not kosher for Passover) during Passover.

Full Passover Schedule

Sunday, April 21

  • Last day to Sell Your Chametz: jbayarea.org/chametz 
  • At nightfall do Bedikat Chametz ("Search for Chametz"). Click here for instructions and for the text of the special recitation.

Monday, April 22 - The Day Before Passover

  • Fast of the Firstborn (more info)
  • Finish eating chametz by 11:07 am
  • Join us for CHAMETZ BURNING at Chabad Bay Area 11:30 am. You may bring the remaining Chametz from your home. 
  • Burn or flush remaining (unsold) chametz by 12:13 pm. We make the special Nullification of Chametz declaration. 
  • Light the Passover candles at 7:34 pm (Blessings)
  • Pray the Maariv evening prayer followed by Hallel.
  • First Seder, Kiddush on the first cup of wine should be after nightfall. Key Mitzvot of the Seder are eating matzah, maror (bitter herbs), drinking four cups of wine and relating the story of the Exodus (Seder guide).
  • Community Seder will be at 8:00 pm (Advance RSVP required)

Tuesday, April 23 - 1st Day of Passover 

  • Holiday Morning Service at 10:00 am
    Includes Hallel and special Festival reading. (In Musaf, we switch to the "summer" insert, asking for dew instead of rain).

Tuesday Evening, April 23 - Eve of 2nd Day

  • Light holiday candles (from a pre-existing flame only) after 8:29 pm
  • Second Seder is held at nightfall 
  • Begin "Counting of The Omer

Wednesday, April 24 - Second Day of Passover

  • Holiday Morning Service at 10:00 am
  • Holidays ends at 8:30 pm

Shabbat, April 26-27 - Intermediate Day of Passover

  • Kabbalah Class at 9:00 am 
  • Morning Service  at 10:00 am

FINAL DAYS OF PASSOVER:

  • Sunday, April 28 - Eve of 7th Day of Passover
  • Monday, April 29 & Tuesday, April 30 - 7th & Final Days of Passover Holiday, Services at 10 am.

Note: No classes on 4/21 & 28

Both the adult and children education classes will not be held over the next two Sundays, April 21 & 28.

Classes will resume after Passover.
