SPECIAL GUEST RABBI & REBBETZIN!

We are honored to be hosting the distinguished Rabbi Efraim & Rebbetzin Chana Schmukler of Montreal (the rabbi's parents) for the final days of the Passover holiday!

We look forward to their wisdom and inspiration!

This weekend: The Final Days of Passover

The 7th day of Passover is the time we crossed through the Sea of Reeds. The theme of the holiday focuses on the great miraculous revelation of that time and the anticipation for the future and final redemption.

  • On the evening of the 7th day of Passover, the time when we actually crossed the Sea of Reeds, it is customary to stay up all night to study Torah.

  • On Shabbat, the 7th day of Passover, the Torah reading of the Splitting of the Sea is read, which includes the special song of praise and gratitude called Az Yashir.

  • On Sunday, the Final Day of Passover, is when we read the Haftorah with one of the prophecies of Redemption and also do Yizkor, the memorial prayer for departed relatives.

  • The Baal Shem Tov instituted a custom for the last day of Passover, to gather towards the end of the day, have four cups of wine in honor of and in anticipation of the upcoming Final Redemption with Mashiach. This gathering is known as Mashiach Seudah.
