This Tisha B'Av is Different!

Thursday, 8 August, 2024 - 8:19 pm

Tisha B'Av, the annual day of fasting and mourning for the destruction of the Holy Temples and exile of the Jewish people from the Land of Israel, is always a most meaningful day.

It's a time to reflect on the pain of exile as well as the deep need for the world to reach its true fulfillment, as a place where goodness and G-dliness is revealed, to be seen and experienced.

With the painful events of this year, and the severe threat hanging over Israel, this day takes on extra meaning.

Even if you have not observed Tisha B'Av fully in the past, this year, let us come together in its observance. When we do, we will not only be focusing on the loss, but on the Torah's vision for a bright future that is to come. We know that goodness, the era of Moshiach and Geulah (redemption) is literally right at our doorstep, just behind the wall. We pray that it come to fruition very soon.

Let us do our part, through inspiring and our inner Jewish soul and increasing in Torah and Mitzvot, one step at a time, to make it happen sooner!
