ABOUT THIS SHABBAT:
Shabbat Shira is when we read the Torah portion about the Jews crossing the Sea of Reeds and singing "Az Yashir" - the song of thanks for their miraculous salvation.
Tu B'Shevat is the Jewish New Year for Trees. A day with special significance in the Land of Israel as well as a time when we reflect on the verse, 'For man is like a tree in the field.'
